Egg Art post #6

More Egg Art.

Butter Fly, Egg Art by Joel Haffner
I had to ask Joel what he was thinking when he drew the Egg Art above.  He said he was going to draw a Butterfly and then thought, "Butter-Fly" and here we have it.

Egg Art post #5

Egg Art: The History

My husband is wonderful, he packs me a lunch almost every day. I am not a big breakfast eater and mornings are hectic, running out the door... so my husband sticks a hard boiled egg in my lunch bag. To keep the egg from getting cracked he wraps it in a paper towel. Once as a surprise he drew a picture on the paper towel of a funny little creature. I told him how much I loved the drawing, that it made me laugh. Ever since, I get a little drawing wrapped around my egg... a little "Egg Art" which I am sharing with you.

The Purple Tufted Heart Head,  Cartoon by Joel Haffner
The title of the Egg Art above is "The Purple Tufted Heart Head."
The drawing was too large to fit all of it on my scanner.
His little note to the side says,
"Prone to Excessive Amounts of Affection."

Egg Art post #4

A lot of Egg Art drawings have nothing to do with eggs, but occasionally Joel went full circle and drew a little egg Egg Art.
Percy T. Eggnoggin is one of my favorites.

Egg Art post #3

Giraffe Love, Cartoon by Joel Haffner

This Egg Art was scanned two years ago and sadly the scans aren't the best.
I was unable to locate the originals for these three.

More Egg Art

Some Egg Art for your Friday.
Enjoy!

Squirrelly, Egg Art Cartoon by Joel Haffner
Squirrelly is an actual squirrel that runs around our house and climbs everything.
This is Joel's interpretation of Squirrelly.

Squirrelly detail

The Love Jogger, Egg Art by Joel Haffner
This is an early example of egg art.
I love that his shoe is untied.

Nerd in Love, Egg Art by Joel Haffner
You can tell in some of these that we switched our brand of paper-towel by the embossing/ texture of the paper- towels.

The Love Igloo, Egg Art by Joel Haffner
Joel always puts in funny little details like the icicle on the Eskimo's nose.  Of course all these characters represent Joel in some manner - he may deny this if asked.

Elf with bird and flower,  Egg Art by Joel Haffner
I could always tell when Joel had some extra time in the mornings, the drawings would have more detail and generally they would be more complex.
Alien,  Egg Art by Joel Haffner

I have over 100 maybe even 200 of these Egg Art cartoons and will be posting more every week so check back. For the story behind Egg Art visit my August, 8th blog post.

Egg Art

My husband is fabulous! He packs me a lunch almost every morning...because he knows that if he doesn't I will get busy and skip lunch or just eat a granola bar.  I am not a big breakfast eater either and mornings are hectic, running out the door... so he sticks a hard boiled egg in my lunch bag.  To keep the egg from getting cracked he wraps it in a paper towel.  Once as a surprise he drew a picture on the paper towel of a funny little creature.  I told him how much I loved the drawing, that it made me laugh.  Ever since then I get a little drawing wrapped around my egg... a little "Egg Art" which I am sharing with you.  Check back often to see more Egg Art.
